You can always count on SkyOne to keep your deposits safe and secure especially during turbulent times. At SkyOne, your savings are both federally and privately insured for maximum protection. The Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008, signed into law on October 3, 2008, increased the federal insurance coverage on all accounts up to $250,000 through December 31, 2013. The NCUA, a U.S. Government Agency, provides this share insurance coverage through the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF). Additionally, SkyOne provides excess share insurance through American Share Insurance (ASI) which kicks in when a member's balances exceed the maximum level of coverage provided by the NCUA.
Federally Insured
Backed by the full faith and credit of the U.S. government, NCUSIF insures the accounts of millions of account holders in all federal credit unions like SkyOne. This share insurance is similar to the deposit insurance protection offered by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). You can rest assured, not one penny of federally insured savings has ever been lost by a member of a federally insured credit union. Most share accounts are insured up to $250,000. Certain retirement accounts, such as IRAs, are also federally insured separately up to $250,000.
Additional Share Insurance
As an extra measure of protection, SkyOne also provides its members with excess share insurance through American Share Insurance, ASI. They are the nation‘s largest non-federal insurer of credit union deposits. Members exceeding the maximum level of insurance coverage provided by the NCUA are insured up to an additional $250,000 with ASI's excess share insurance. Combined with NCUSIF, this provides Credit Union members with coverage up to at least $500,000 and an additional $500,000 for individual retirement accounts.

Investment products offered by SkyOne Federal Credit Union, such as mutual funds, annuities, and other non-deposit investments are not insured by the NCUA or ASI.
